I just discovered, I am on the 'wrong' day. I have been this way for 3 days, going to events and they are not happening, but I meet a person, a woman who looks exactly like my neighbor downstairs = are they twins? they have the same name....- buy an art table with a green top just like the kitchen counter in my childhood home.
I missed an appointment that I thought was Sunday, got up Monday which was really Sunday and went to a singing lesson, which I haven't done in about a year, the teacher was gone, but her husband answers the door. He is tall and lean wearing a tee shirt. I come in and sit down. My wife is just leaving a message, she is a whole foods...she usually looks at her calendar, she didn't have anything today, she'll be upset she missed your lesson. oh that's ok, divine timing.. I can go to the doctor I am needing to get to. I point my car toward the clinic. My thoughts go back to college when my friend and I were creative with fun ideas, to break up the tedium of study. On the halls of the dormitory there were phone booths, even in the 70's no phone there. We dressed up the space, with random things we had available, cheerio box, banana peel, alarm clock... and posted signs around the common areas - "The Porno Booth is now open on the 3rd floor (free) just follow the signs". We sat in her room opposite the booth with the door slightly open to be able to peek at who might be coming down our usually quiet hall. Young men mostly alone or with a friend trickled by. Our giggling and curiousity finally got the best of us as some one came to the door a bit confused "Did you make that?" The clinic is closed, it is in reconstruction. No cars in the parking lot.. I am developing a head ache. Who is in my head? I see - don't look don't see. Yawn yawn yawn. Don't look at what? Returning home, after a trail of recorded messages, a live female is on the other end of the line. "The clinics are closed Sunday" This is Sunday? Being ok with confusion - how is your tolerance?
